“Daddy’s Home” is a story of how God’s love helped more than 30 children find a family.
In 2012, God placed a dream in the hearts of Rostislav and Iryna to create not just a place for orphaned children to live, but a true home where every child would be loved, accepted, and cared for. This dream became “Daddy’s Home,” established on our mission base in Kisumu, Kenya.
Over the years, many children with difficult backgrounds came through our home. Some had been abandoned by their parents, lived on the streets, stayed in government institutions, or lacked proper care and support. For each of them, Daddy’s Home became a place of safety, love, and hope.
As part of Kenya’s child care reform, the government began transitioning from children’s homes to family-based care. We embraced this change as an opportunity to give our children what they needed most — a family.
For several years, our team prepared for this transition by updating documentation, working closely with the Children’s Department of Kenya, and training future foster parents and mentors. After successfully completing all required inspections and evaluations, we received approval to establish family homes for our children.
Over the course of ten months, new homes were prepared and inspected, and all of our children successfully moved into foster families. Each home was carefully evaluated by the Children’s Department, and every foster parent and mentor received specialized training and preparation.
Today, our children live in eight family homes. Our foster parents and mentors are committed Christian men and women who have opened their hearts to serve and care for these children.
Although the format of our ministry has changed, our mission has not. Under Kenyan law, we continue to support and monitor the well-being of these families and children until they reach adulthood. Every month, we visit families, meet with children and caregivers, help address challenges, organize activities, and provide ongoing support.
Most importantly, we continue to introduce children to Jesus Christ, helping them discover God’s love, grow in faith, and build a personal relationship with Him. We believe that an encounter with Christ can transform a life and bring true hope and purpose.
